@PastFashionFuture Instagram of the Week: Ultrasuede Treasure Amidst Ugly Holiday Sweaters.
I am home for the holiday in Maine and I was bummed to find out that the nearby Goodwill had closed its doors two years ago. Fortunately, there was a resale shop in town that had some treasures.
Where others see ugly xmas sweaters, I see a potential vintage fashion goldmine. Case and point: a pink Ultrasuede trench coat, $15!

Tonight, I stopped by the Ace Hotel to check out one of my favorite designer’s colorful and classic styles for spring 2013. @PastFashionFuture Instagram of the Week/My Favorite Vintage Thrift Store Find: A vintage Pierre Balmain bag. I found it for $15 but since I sold my clothes to Beacon’s Closet (a thrift store in Brooklyn, New York) and got a store credit it was basically $free.99! Jealous much? Don’t be! You can find great vintage, too. You just have to have patience, persistence, and an eye for quality. (Psst..stay close and you’ll be a vintage shopping pro in no time.)

It’s my Instagram photo of the day: the good ol’ “Take a Photo of Myself in The Mirror” snap. I can’t wait to show you the entire dress but for now, here’s a sneak peek at an amazing vintage dress I found at a flea market over the weekend.
I steamed the sh** out of it after I got it—for fear of, dare I say it, bed begs—and I am excited to don it. Unforch, it’s too constricting to wear on my birthday and I need something that I can dance, dance, dance in! Keep tuned—and if you have an amazing, fabulous, dress-to-the-nines type event then you know where to send an invite. View more Instagram snaps, here: @pastfashionfuture.

Last night, I donned a new-to-me Michael Kors purple silk pencil skirt for a night on the town that included lots of dancing into the wee hours of the morning at The Wooly, in the basement of the Woolworth Building. The skirt was skin tight and fit me like a glove, which is perfect for going out but not so much for the office. I paired it with a sheer silk Oscar de la Renta blouse with beaded detailing on the collar and vintage gold earrings.
